Fayetteville, AR (Sports Network) - Marshawn Powell scored 26 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Arkansas Razorbacks to a 92-79 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks in SEC action at Bud Walton Arena.

Courtney Fortson tallied 19 points in addition to nine boards and eight assists in the win for Arkansas (14-12, 7-4 SEC), while Rotnei Clarke and Marcus Britt registered 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Devan Downey poured in a game-high 28 points while dishing out seven assists to lead the way for South Carolina (14-11, 5-6), while Sam Muldrow finished with 23 points to go with eight rebounds. Brandis Raley-Ross got into the mix as well, chipping in 16 points in a losing effort.

The Razorbacks connected on 53.3 percent of their attempts from the field during the first period of play to open a 40-33 halftime lead.

Arkansas never looked back in the second half, hitting 56.0 percent of its attempts from the floor while knocking down 22-of-30 at the foul line to earn the 13-point victory.

The Gamecocks shot at a modest 44.9 percent pace from the field and also suffered 18 turnovers in the loss.
