Gainesville, FL (Sports Network) - Chandler Parsons scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Florida Gators to a 78-70 win over the Auburn Tigers in an SEC clash at the O'Connell Center.

Erving Walker also added 14 points and six assists for the Gators (18-8, 7-4 SEC), while Alex Tyus chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds. Kenny Boynton also got involved, netting 10 points in the win.

DeWayne Reed led the way for the Tigers (12-14, 3-8), tallying a game-high 22 points and six assists in a losing effort. Tay Walker chipped in with 13 points and seven rebounds for Auburn, while Brendon Knox added 10 points off the bench.

Florida took control of the contest in the first half, shooting 50 percent from the floor, to take a 37-34 lead at the break.

The Gators kept the pressure on in the second stanza, knocking down 23-of-30 free-throws, en route to an eight-point victory.

Free-throw shooting proved to be the difference in this contest, as Florida outscored the Tigers 32-17 from the charity stripe
