Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Sanchez Hughley scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Florida Atlantic Owls to a 77-74 win over the FIU Golden Panthers in a Sun Belt Conference tussle at US Century Bank Arena.

Raymond Taylor also added 17 points for FAU (14-12, 10-5 SBC), while Greg Gantt chipped in with 16 points in the win. Brett Royster also got involved, totaling 10 points and 14 rebounds.

FIU (7-22, 4-12) was paced by Tremayne Russell, who scored 18 points in a losing effort. J.C. Otero also chipped in with 15 points and 16 rebounds, while Marvin Roberts and Stephon Weaver added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Both teams traded baskets in the first half, fighting their way to a 39-39 tie at the break.

FAU took control of the game in the second stanza, knocking down 51.7 percent of its shots, en route to a three-point victory.

FAU controlled the post, outscoring the Golden Panthers 38-24 in the paint.
