Bowling Green, KY (Sports Network) - A.J. Slaughter scored a game-high 31 points and dished out six assists to lead the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers to a 99-69 win over the South Alabama Jaguars in Sun Belt Conference action at E.A. Diddle Arena.

Steffphon Pettigrew and Sergio Kerusch also added 13 points apiece for the Hilltoppers (16-12, 9-6 SBC), while Jeremy Evans and Jordan Swing each netted 11 points in the win.

The Jaguars (15-13, 7-9) were paced by Tim Williams, who scored 23 points in a losing effort. Gary Redus, Martino Brock and Javier Carter also got involved, netting 11 points apiece.

WKU took control of the game in the first half, shooting 8-of-13 from three- point range, to take a 53-20 lead at the break.

The Hilltoppers put the game away in the second stanza, knocking down 46.2 percent of their shots from the floor, en route to a 30-point victory.

Three-point shooting proved to be the difference in this contest as WKU outscored the Jaguars 42-18 on the night.
