San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Ben Allen scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Sain Mary's Gaels to a 61-49 victory over the San Diego Toreros in West Coast Conference play at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Mickey McConnell added 13 points for Saint Mary's (22-5, 9-3 WCC), while Matthew Dellavedova tallied 12 points, to go along with six rebounds and six assists. Omar Samhan contributed a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

Brandon Johnson was the only player in double figures for San Diego (9-19, 2-10), as the guard scored 15 points in the loss.

The Gaels held San Diego to a 36.7 percent shooting effort in the first half and went into the break with a 31-29 lead.

In the second stanza Saint Mary's shot 40.9 percent from the field, and went on to win by an 11-point margin.

The Gaels won the battle on the glass by a 39-25 margin.
