Final Score: Colorado 74 - Kansas 94
Lawrence, KS (Sports Network) - Xavier Henry poured in 24 points and Cole Aldrich donated 17 points and 10 rebounds, as No. 1 Kansas stayed perfect at Allen Fieldhouse with a 94-74 drubbing of Colorado.
Tyshawn Taylor ended with 17 points and Sherron Collins tallied 13 points and seven assists for the Jayhawks (26-1, 12-0 Big 12), winners of 12 straight since their lone loss at Tennessee on January 10th.
Markieff Morris totaled 11 points and seven boards off the bench, as Kansas shot a blistering 54.7 percent from the field and made 9-of-20 from three- point land in the rout.
"Tyshawn (Taylor) was great. Sherron (Collins) was good. Cole (Aldrich) was great. Markieff (Morris) was pretty good. Marcus (Morris) was OK but, pretty good. Xavier (Henry) was great. So we had six guys who I thought played pretty well," Kansas Head Coach Bill Self said.
Alec Burks had 17 points and seven boards, while Marcus Relphorde and Cory Higgins added 16 and 13 points, respectively, for the Buffaloes (12-14, 3-9), who turned the ball over 19 times en route to their fifth loss in six games.
The contest was a far cry from the overtime thriller Kansas pulled out in Boulder on February 3rd. Kansas won that contest 72-66, but Saturday's meeting was never in doubt.
Aldrich dropped in a layup off an offensive rebound to cap 10 straight Jayhawk points for an 18-7 lead a little more than six minutes into the game.
Collins' three-pointer sparked a 13-1 run a little later, as an Aldrich free throw made it 35-14 roughly seven minutes before the break.
The margin at halftime was 48-34 and reached 68-48 on Henry's three-point play with 12:50 left.
The closest Colorado got was 16 from that point on.
"Give Kansas a lot of credit. They are an exceptionally good basketball team," Colorado head coach Jeff Bzdelik said. "They had a real bounce to their step today. They hit us hard and we were reeling after that."
