Northridge, CA (Sports Network) - Josh Young scored 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds as the Drake Bulldogs defeated the Cal State Northridge Matadors, 90-80, in a BracketBuster meeting at the Matadome.

Adam Templeton added 16 points and seven boards for the Bulldogs (13-16) as they won their second in a row. Seth VanDeest chipped in 13 points, followed by Bill Simons and Ryan Wedel with 10 points apiece in the road victory.

The Matadors (10-17), losers of four of the last five, were paced by Lenny Daniel with his 22 points and 10 rebounds, both of which were game highs, while Kenny Daniels accounted for 15 points and six assists off the bench. Before fouling out Raymond Cody posted 12 points, while Therin Taylor dropped in 10.

Both teams shot better than 53 percent from the field in the first half, but thanks to 6-of-14 beyond the arc in the frame the Bulldogs had themselves a 44-39 lead at the break.

In the second half not only did Drake hit on 6-of-9 on the perimeter, the squad also feasted at the free-throw line (18-of-21) to secure the double- digit win.

CSUN, which turned the ball over 17 times, leading to 25 Bulldog points, allowed the visitors to convert 52.9 percent from the field overall.
