Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Thomas Kennedy scored 15 points to lead the Detroit Titans to a 68-66 win over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in a BracketBuster showdown at Calihan Hall.

Detroit (16-13) also received 14 points from Eli Holman, while Woody Payne chipped in with 13 points and 10 assists. Chase Simon also got involved, netting 10 points off of the bench.

EMU (14-13) was paced by Carlos Medlock, who scored a game-high 21 points and dished out six assists, in a losing effort. Brandon Bowdry also added 18 points, while Justin Dobbins chipped in with 13 points, respectively.

Detroit got off to a fast start, shooting 41.4 percent from the floor, to take a 36-27 lead at the break.

The Titans kept the pressure on in the second stanza, knocking down 8-of-11 free throws, en route to a two-point victory.

Foul shooting proved to be the difference in the contest, as Detroit outscored EMU 17-13 from the charity stripe.
