Davidson, NC (Sports Network) - Jake Cohen scored 14 points and hit a couple of free throws in the final seconds to lift the Davidson Wildcats to a 61-58 win over the Furman Paladins in Southern Conference play at Belk Arena.
Will Archambault added 12 points off the bench for Davidson (14-13, 9-6 SoCon), while J.P. Kuhlman tallied 10 points and seven rebounds in the win.
Justin Dehm paced Furman (12-15, 6-10) with a game-high 22 points and four steals, though he was the only Paladin in double figures.
The Paladins shot a healthy 52.2 percent from the floor and knocked down 6- of-10 three-pointers in the first half. However, they never led by more than five, and Davidson rallied to take a 34-30 halftime lead.
Despite shooting just 8-of-23 (.348) from the floor in the second half, the Wildcats led by 12 with just under six minutes to play. Furman eventually cut the deficit to 57-55 with 1:24 remaining after hitting back-to-back three- pointers. Cohen sank two free throws with 3.1 seconds on the clock to lock up the victory for Davidson.
Furman committed 19 turnovers in the game, which led to 22 points for Davidson. The Paladins also went just 3-of-7 at the foul line.
