Final Score: Gonzaga 72 - Pepperdine 54
Malibu, CA (Sports Network) - Matt Bouldin poured in 18 points and dished out five assists, as the 13th-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs bounced back into the win column with a 72-54 rout of the Pepperdine Waves in a West Coast Conference clash.
Elias Harris added 13 points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs (22-5, 10-2 WCC), who had won four straight games and 13 of 14 before being shocked by Loyola Marymount, 74-66, on Thursday. Robert Sacre and Steven Gray each chipped in 12 points for the Gonzaga, which shot 52.9 percent from the field. Sacre also had a career-high six blocks as the Bulldogs moved within one victory of their 10th consecutive regular-season championship in the WCC.
Keion Bell finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Waves (7-21, 3-9), who have dropped nine straight contests. Mychel Thompson ended with 11 points and five boards for Pepperdine, which shot a miserable 27.1 percent from the floor.
The Bulldogs took control from the opening tip, starting the game on a 25-7 run. Gray tallied 10 points during the stretch, which Demetri Goodson capped with a pair of free throws with less than 14 minutes left.
Bouldin's jumper and Will Foster's layup before the half had Gonzaga in front 40-19 at the break.
The decision was never in doubt for the Bulldogs in the second half.
