Boston, MA (Sports Network) - DeAndre Brown's three-pointer with 24 seconds remaining lifted the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs to a 70-67 win over the Northeastern Huskies in a BracketBusters event at Matthews Arena.
Brown finished with 18 points to share team-high scoring honors with Jamel Guyton. Magnum Rolle was next in line with 17 points for Louisiana Tech (21-6).
Matt Janning led all scorers with 19 points and also dished out seven assists for Northeastern (18-10). Nkem Ojougboh recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Manny Adako scored 14 and Chaisson Allen finished with 11 in the loss.
Northeastern shot a blistering 61.5 percent from the floor in the first half, including a 5-of-10 effort from beyond the arc. The Huskies led by as many as nine with just under four minutes to play until halftime, but the Bulldogs closed the half with a 12-4 run to cut the deficit to 38-37 at the break.
NU built its lead back up to eight with 5:11 to play in regulation, but a three-pointer by Guyton ignited a 10-2 run for the Bulldogs. The Huskies got off three potential game-tying three-point attempts on their final possession, but all three shots were off the mark.
The Huskies shot a healthy 54.5 percent from the floor, but they made only 1- of-2 free throws for the game.
