Murray, KY (Sports Network) - Reserves Ivan Aska and Isaiah Canaan scored 17 and 14 points, respectively, as the Murray State Racers claimed a 75-66 win over the Morgan State Bears as part of BracketBusters weekend at the Regional Special Events Center.
B.J. Jenkins added 13 points to help Murray State (26-3) extend the nation's longest winning streak to 17. Danero Thomas tallied 11 points and seven rebounds in the victory, while Tony Easley finished with 10 points and eight boards.
Reggie Holmes registered a game-high 22 points to go along with eight boards for the Bears (20-9), who have now dropped two straight since a season-best 11-game win streak. Joe Davis joined Holmes in double figures with 11 points in 14 minutes off the bench.
The Racers shot just 32.3 percent from the floor in the first half and trailed by as many as eight with 2:14 to play, though they were able to cut the deficit to 33-30 at the break.
Murray State caught fire in the second stanza, shooting 55.6 percent from the floor while holding Morgan State to a 25.8-percent clip. The Racers led by 15 with just under two minutes to play.
Murray State's 17 straight wins represents the longest run in school history. The Racers enjoyed a 47-35 rebounding advantage for the game.
