Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Tyrone Conley knocked down a jumper with one second to play, lifting the New Hampshire Wildcats to a thrilling, 61-60 victory over the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds in a BracketBusters event at Reitz Arena.
Alvin Abreu led New Hampshire (11-15) with 16 points, while Conley and Brian Benson each scored 11 in the win.
Jamal Barney paced Loyola (12-15) with 16 points off the bench. Jawaan Wright, Brett Harvey and Brian Rudolph each scored 10 for the Greyhounds.
Loyola jumped out to an early 9-1 lead four minutes into the contest. New Hampshire would later go on a 14-2 run, turning a 15-7 deficit into a 21-17 lead with 5:36 to play until halftime. The Wildcats led, 31-30 at the break.
Neither team shot better than 40 percent from the floor in the second stanza, though Loyola led by as many as seven with 6:32 remaining in regulation. New Hampshire whittled the deficit down to one in the final minute, and Harvey committed a costly turnover for Loyola with 23 seconds to play, setting the stage for Conley's late-game heroics.
New Hampshire held a sizeable 43-26 rebounding advantage for the game, including a 17-5 edge on the offensive glass.
