Final Score: Siena 53 - Butler 70
Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Shelvin Mack finished with 23 points on 8- of-14 shooting, including draining 3-of-7 three-point attempts, to help 18th- ranked Butler take down fellow conference champion Siena, 70-53, and extend the school's longest win streak.
Gordon Hayward had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs (25-4), who have already clinched the regular-season title in the Horizon League. Butler has won its last 17 games and improved to 13-0 at Hinkle Fieldhouse this season.
Clarence Jackson scored 24 points to pace the Saints (22-6), the regular season champs of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Ryan Rossiter totaled 10 points and fell one rebound shy of a double-double for Siena, which has dropped two of its last three games after winning 15 straight.
Butler started the game 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, and a Ronald Nored layup pushed the lead to 20-11 for the Bulldogs. Siena ended the first half on a 20-8 surge and settled for a three-point halftime lead when O.D. Anosike put in a Edwin Ubiles miss.
The Saints, who have never beaten a ranked team on the road, couldn't keep pace with Butler following the break. The Bulldogs increased their advantage 50-39 on a Hayward bucket and Avery Jukes free throw with about nine minutes remaining. The margin reached 20 in the late stages of regulation.
