Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - D.J. Kennedy scored 17 points to lead the St. John's Red Storm to a 74-58 victory over the South Florida Bulls in Big East play at the Sun Dome.

Paris Horne added 11 points and Malik Boothe finished with 10 for St. John's (15-11, 5-9 Big East).

Mike Mercer and Dominique Jones registered 17 points apiece to pace USF (16-10, 6-8), while Chris Howard scored 14 in a losing effort.

The Red Storm were dialed in from the start, as they shot 57.7 percent from the floor in the first half, closing the period with a 10-2 run to grab a 35-24 lead at the break.

St. John's widened the gap in the second stanza by shooting a blistering 60 percent from the floor to go along with a 12-6 scoring edge at the foul line.

In addition to their superior shooting, the Red Storm also held a 34-26 rebounding advantage for the game.
