Final Score: Temple 75 - Saint Josephs 67
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Ramone Moore tied the game with 1.5 seconds remaining in regulation and totaled 24 points to help the 21st-ranked Temple Owls escape The Palestra with a 75-67 overtime win over Saint Joseph's.
Garrett Williamson buried a layup off the glass to give the Hawks a 59-57 lead with 5.7 seconds left. Moore then took the inbound pass and went to coast- to-coast for an easy deuce.
Juan Fernandez hit a three-pointer to open the extra session for Temple. After a Williamson layup, Moore put in a Ryan Brooks missed three-pointer, and Brooks made two free throws to push the Owls' lead to 66-61.
Saint Joseph's whittled the deficit to two when Darrin Govens sank all three free throws following a foul behind the arc, but Temple grabbed a 71-64 lead after Lavoy Allen converted a three-point play and Moore nailed a jumper. The Owls cemented the win at the charity stripe.
Moore added nine rebounds and three assists for the Owls (22-5, 10-2 A-10), who have won three straight and seven in a row against Saint Joseph's. Allen posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards, while Fernandez finished with 13 and five.
Govens scored 21 points, and Williamson added 20 for the Hawks (9-18, 3-10), who have dropped seven of eight.
Temple scored 10 of the game's first 12 points, but a Carl Jones three-pointer put the Hawks in front, 23-21, with 3:45 remaining in the first half. The Owls ended the frame on an 8-0 run, only to see Saint Joseph's counter with eight straight points at the beginning of the second half.
The Hawks erased another eight-point deficit later in the period and took a 47-44 lead on a Williamson layup with a little over six minutes left. The teams continued to trade baskets before Fernandez made two free throws to put Temple on top 55-54 with 1:07 remaining. The Hawks' Chris Prescott, though, knocked down a trey from the left corner, setting up a wild sequence to end regulation.
