Kellen Brand netted 16 points for Appalachian State (17-11), while Isaac Butts and Jeremi Booth scored 15 points apiece in the win.

Kevin Murphy led the way for Tennessee Tech (13-16) with 25 points, while Alfred Jones scored 12 points.

The Mountaineers held a 39-24 advantage at the intermission after shooting 50.0 percent from the floor in the first half.

Appalachian State cruised to victory by connecting on 60.0 percent of its second half field goals.

The Mountaineers converted 12-of-14 second half free throws, and 17-of-23 overall, to seal their 17th win of the season.
