Tyree Evans scored 14 points for Kent State (20-8), which has won 10 of its last 11 outings. Chris Singletary and Rodriquez Sherman added 11 points each, while Singletary also provided nine assists.

Richie Gordon scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Western Carolina (19-10), which has lost five of its last six. Brandon Giles and Mike Williams provided 11 points each.
