Jonesboro, AR (Sports Network) - A.J. Slaughter scored 13 of his team's 15 points in overtime to lift the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers over the Arkansas State Red Wolves by a 78-76 final in a Sun Belt Conference thriller.

Slaughter finished with 21 points in the triumph for Western Kentucky (17-12, 10-6 SBC), which received 17 points from Steffphon Pettigrew.

Brandon Reed tallied 30 points in defeat for Arkansas State (15-12, 10-6). Martavius Adams and Rashad Allison both had 12 points for the Red Wolves.

Arkansas State led 36-26 at intermission thanks to a 10-2 run.

With seven seconds remaining in regulation, Western Kentucky led 63-62. Reed hit the first of two free throws to knot the score at 63-63, but a miss on the second attempt sent the game to overtime.

Slaughter dominated the extra session as mentioned, as he had a pair of huge three-pointers in the final minute.
