Riverside, CA (Sports Network) - David Chavarria scored on a putback with 0.3 seconds left in regulation to give the UC-Riverside Highlanders a 62-60 win over the Youngstown State Penguins in a BracketBuster matchup at the Student Rec. Center.

Kyle Austin scored 13 points for the Highlanders (11-15). Brandon Dowdy added 11 points and Larry Gurganious 10. Austin and Lateef McMullan each grabbed six rebounds, while Sean Cunningham added nine assists.

Vytas Sulskis scored 18 points for the Penguins (8-19).

The Highlanders led by as many as 10 in the first half, before taking a 36-27 lead into halftime. UC Riverside shot 46.9 percent from the floor in the first half.

The hosts led by seven with 4:14 left in regulation before the Penguins rallied to force at 60-60 tie on a jumper from Sulskis with 24 seconds remaining. The Penguins were able to inbound after Chavarria's bucket, but didn't get off a last shot.

YSU was just 3-of-11 from long range for the game.
