James Powell pitched in 17 points for UC Santa Barbara (17-8, 11-3 BWC), which received 15 points apiece from Jaime Serna and James Nunnally.

Kenny Daniels scored 23 points for Cal State Northridge (10-18, 5-8), which got 12 points from Mark Hill and 11 points from Willie Galick.

UC Santa Barbara led 32-17 at intermission after holding Cal State Northridge to 37.5 percent shooting from the floor in the first half.

The Gauchos sealed the victory with 55 percent shooting from the floor and 19 points from the foul line over the final 20 minutes.
