Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Yancy Gates poured in 23 points as the Cincinnati Bearcats downed the DePaul Blue Demons, 74-69, in a Big East Conference showdown at the Fifth Third Arena.

Lance Stephenson recorded a double-double for Cincinnati (16-11, 7-8 Big East) with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ibrahima Thomas also grabbed 10 boards in the win.

Will Walker scored a game-high 24 points in the loss for DePaul (8-19, 1-14), while Mac Koshwal contributed 19 points to go along with 12 boards.

The Bearcats took a solid 35-26 advantage into the intermission after holding DePaul to a poor 35.5 percent shooting efficiency from the field in the opening half.

Cincinnati was able to gain the five-point victory by connecting on 62.5 percent of its second-half shots from the floor.
