Newark, DE (Sports Network) - Andre Cornelius dropped in 16 points and the George Mason Patriots hung on for a 61-59 victory over the Delaware Blue Hens in Colonial Athletic Association play at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark.

Cornelius made good on 4-of-7 shots from downtown, as George Mason (17-12, 12-5 CAA) snapped a three-game slide. Cam Long added 14 points and nine boards, while Sherrod Wright posted 10 points.

Jawan Carter poured in a game-high 25 points for Delaware (7-22, 3-14), which suffered its fifth straight loss. Edwin Santiago chipped in with 11 points, while Alphonso Dawson had 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Blue Hens shot 44.0 percent from the floor and went 13-of-16 at the foul line in the first half, taking a 38-32 lead to the locker room.

The Patriots rallied in the second half and used a 9-0 run to move ahead 49-45. George Mason then led 60-59, and Delaware missed five game-winning attempts down the stretch in the two-point decision.
