Las Cruces, NM (Sports Network) - Jahmar Young poured in 23 points to lead the New Mexico State Aggies to a 74-57 victory over the Idaho Vandals in a Western Athletic Conference battle.

Jonathan Gibson added 15 points for New Mexico State (18-9, 10-3 WAC), which received 11 points and 12 rebounds from Wendell McKines.

Kyle Barone and Kashif Watson both netted 10 points in the loss for Idaho (13-14, 4-9).

Idaho led 11-8 early on, but New Mexico State closed the first half on a 33-12 run and led 41-23 at intermission.

The Aggies led by double figures throughout the second half and by 20 or more points for the majority of the stanza.

New Mexico State forced 19 turnovers in the tilt, a major reason the club was able to overcome a 46-40 rebounding disadvantage and a low total of four points from the foul line.
