Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Dexter Fields scored 13 points as the UAB Blazers defeated the UCF Knights, 53-49, in a Conference USA battle at New UCF Arena.

Elijah Millsap recorded a double-double for UAB (22-5, 10-3 CUSA), netting 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Keith Clanton had a double-double of his own for UCF (13-14, 5-8) with 13 points and 15 rebounds, while Isaac Sosa led the team with 15 points in the loss.

The Blazers took a 31-23 advantage into the intermission after holding UCF to a poor 31.8 percent shooting from the floor in the opening half.

UAB didn't shoot much better in the second stanza, connecting on just 33.3 percent of its shots from the floor, but the Blazers defense stood strong for the four-point win.
