Riverdale, NY (Sports Network) - Tyrone Lewis sunk a game-high 21 points as the Niagara Purple Eagles edged the Manhattan Jaspers, 74-72, in a tight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference battle at Draddy Gym.

Kashief Edwards scored 14 points for Niagara (17-13, 9-8 MAAC), which won its fourth game in a row. Anthony Nelson and Scooter Gillette provided healthy efforts as well, netting 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Darryl Crawford led Manhattan (10-18, 4-13) with 18 points and five assists, while Bradon Adams recorded a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Rico Pickett added 17 points, and Antoine Pearson netted 13.

The Purple Eagles took a slim 35-33 advantage into the intermission after shooting 41.4 percent from the floor in the opening half.

Niagara led by 15 with just over six minutes to play before holding off a late Manhattan charge for the two-point win.

The Purple Eagles, who defeated the Jaspers for the eighth straight time, shot 51.9 percent from the floor on the night.
