Ithaca, NY (Sports Network) - Jeff Foote posted 19 points and the Cornell Big Red clipped the Princeton Tigers, 50-47, in an Ivy League showdown at Newman Arena.

Foote went 6-of-7 from the floor and grabbed five caroms, as Cornell (24-4, 10-1 Ivy) won its fourth straight and distanced itself from the Tigers in the standings. Ryan Wittman also got into the mix, finishing with 12 points and five rebounds.

Dan Mavraides paced the Tigers (16-8, 7-3) in defeat with 13 points and five rebounds. Kareem Maddox scored 11 points and Pawel Buczak 10, as Princeton dropped its second game in a row.

Cornell went into the locker room with a 26-24 edge, as it shot 42.9 percent from the floor in the opening stanza.

The Big Red used a 15-of-17 effort at the foul line in the second half to hang on for the three-point win. The Tigers had a chance to tie, but Mavraides missed a trey at the buzzer.

Cornell ended the night 22-of-25 at the foul line, meanwhile, the Tigers went just 7-of-11 at the stripe.
