Toledo, OH (Sports Network) - Justin Anyijong scored 13 points to lead the Toledo Rockets to a 45-42 victory over the Ball State Cardinals in a Mid- American Conference tussle at Savage Arena.

Jay Shunnar and Malcolm Griffin tallied eight points apiece for Toledo (4-26, 1-14 MAC), which collected its first league win on the year.

Randy Davis netted 14 points for Ball State (15-13, 8-7), while Jarrod Jones contributed a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Jauwan Scaife posted 11 points in the loss.

The Rockets held Ball State to a miserable 15.8 percent shooting effort from the floor in the first half and went into the break with a 30-15 lead.

Despite shooting just 26.3 percent from field in the second stanza, the Rockets still managed to grab a three-point win.

Toledo outscored Ball State in the paint by a 22-14 margin.
