Hempstead, NY (Sports Network) - Charles Jenkins scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Hofstra Pride to an 87-74 win over the Georgia State Panthers in a Colonial Athletic Association bout at the Mack Sports Complex.

The Pride (18-13, 10-8 CAA) also received 18 points from Cornelius Vines, while Halil Kanacevic chipped in with 16 points and seven rebounds. Chaz Williams also contributed in the win, totaling nine points, 10 assists and seven rebounds.

The Panthers (12-19, 5-13) were paced by Joe Dukes who scored 22 points in a losing effort. Xavier Hansboro also got involved, netting 11 points for GSU off the bench.

Hofstra shot just 36.4 percent from the field in the first half, but made good on 12-of-15 at the free-throw line to take a 43-36 lead at the break.

The Pride pulled away in the second stanza, knocking down 5-of-9 three-point attempts, en route to a 13-point victory.

The Panthers didn't do themselves any favors as they shot a mere 6-of-18 behind the three-point line and a meager 18-of-35 at the charity stripe.
