Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Papa Dia's double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds led the way for SMU, as the Mustangs defeated the Houston Cougars, 94-83, in a Conference-USA matchup at Moody Coliseum.

Derek Williams and Robert Nyakundi added 18 points apiece for SMU (14-14, 7-7 C-USA), while Mouhammad Faye tallied a double-double of 11 points and 10 boards.

Aubrey Coleman poured in 30 points for Houston (14-14, 6-8), while Adam Brown contributed 17 points. Kirk Van Slyke and Kelvin Lewis chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Houston went into the break with a 39-33 lead after connecting on 14-of-34 attempts from the floor, and that included seven three-point baskets.

SMU returned the favor in the second stanza, netting 66.7 percent of its shots in the half. SMU also connected on nine three-point shots in the final 20 minutes.
