Columbia, SC (Sports Network) - Jarvis Varnado registered a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds to power the Mississippi State Bulldogs past the South Carolina Gamecocks, 76-63, in a SEC clash at Colonial Life Arena.

Barry Stewart added 18 points and five assists for MSU (21-8, 9-5 SEC), which won its third game a row. Ravern Johnson tacked on 15 points and five boards, while Kodi Augustus and Dee Bost chipped in with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Sam Muldrow paced USC (14-14, 5-9) in defeat with 15 points. Ramon Galloway dropped in 14 points, while Devan Downey and Brandis Raley-Ross posted 12 points apiece. Lakeem Jackson logged 10 points and seven boards, as the Gamecocks dropped their fourth in a row.

The Bulldogs used a 19-4 run in the first half to open a 35-28 lead at the intermission.
