Winston-Salem, NC (Sports Network) - Leslie McDonald scored a season-high 16 points off the bench as he helped lead the North Carolina Tar Heels to a 77-68 win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in ACC play at Lawrence Joel Coliseum.

Also hitting for double figures for the Tar Heels (15-14, 4-10 ACC) were Will Graves with 13 points and Larry Drew 10 to go along with his game-high eight assists as the squad snapped a three-game slide. Working on the inside were Marcus Ginyard, who came away with eight points and a game-high 13 rebounds, and John Henson with nine points, 12 boards and five blocked shots in the road victory.

The Demon Deacons (18-8, 8-6) were paced by Ari Stewart with 16 points and seven rebounds off the bench in the team's third straight setback. Before fouling out L.D. Williams accounted for 14 points and nine boards, while Ishmael Smith chipped in 12 points and seven assists, followed by Al-Farouq Aminu with seven points and a team-best 10 rebounds.

Wake Forest led by four points late in the first half, but 27.3 percent shooting from the field in the frame left the home team trailing by a score of 32-28 at the break.

In the second half the Demon Deacons made only 31.7 percent from the floor and 8-of-14 at the free-throw line, essentially handing the win over to UNC.

In a game that saw seven ties and 12 lead changes, the Tar Heels won the battle of the boards by a slight 52-50 margin and survived despite shooting only 19-of-33 at the charity stripe.
