Ypsilanti, MI (Sports Network) - Carlos Medlock piled up 25 points and 11 rebounds, helping lift the Eastern Michigan Eagles to a 66-60 win over the Northern Illinois Huskies in a Mid-American Conference clash at the Convocation Center.

Justin Dobbins also recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards for the Eagles (16-13, 8-7 MAC), who entered the day a game back of Ball State for the top spot in the MAC West Division.

Xavier Silas paced NIU (9-19, 5-10) with 19 points and eight rebounds in the loss. Darion Anderson scored 12 and pulled down 11 boards for the Huskies, while Sean Kowal finished with nine points and 13 rebounds.

Neither team shot better than 30 percent from the floor in what was an ugly first half, and they headed to the locker room in a 20-20 tie at the break.

NIU led by six with 7:19 to play in regulation, but the Eagles swung the momentum with a 16-0 run to take a 57-48 lead with 1:23 to play.

The Huskies shot only 30.6 percent from the floor and they even struggled from the free-throw line, connecting on just 9-of-25 attempts for the game.
