Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Dominique Jones scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the South Florida Bulls to a 99-93 victory over the Providence Friars in a Big East Conference battle at the Sun Dome.

Chris Howard added 20 points for South Florida (17-11, 7-9 BigEast), while Augustus Gilchrist and Mike Mercer tallied 21 points and 18 points, respectively.

Jamine Peterson poured in 26 points and collected eight rebounds for Providence (12-16, 4-12), while Sharaud Curry also posted 26 points. Marshon Brooks and Vincent Council contributed 16 and 11 points, respectively.

The Friars shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the first half and went into the break with a 48-46 lead.

South Florida returned the favor in the second stanza by shooting a sizzling 55.6 percent from the floor, en route to the six-point win.

South Florida's bench tallied 33 points, while Providence's reserves posted 18 points.
