Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Jamal Barney scored a game-high 24 points and pulled down nine rebounds off the bench as he helped lead the Greyhounds of Loyola-Maryland to a 71-59 win over the Manhattan Jaspers in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Reitz Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Greyhounds (13-16, 6-12 MAAC) was Brett Harvey with 10 points, although he shot just 3-of-13 from the floor. Shane Walker accounted for a game-high 14 rebounds as well.

The Jaspers (10-19, 4-14) were paced by Darryl Crawford with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Andrew Gabriel accounted for 13 points and seven boards in the setback.

Loyola opened the game on a 6-1 run, but the Jaspers refused to give up that quickly and survived just 2-of-10 shooting behind the three-point line in the frame to trail by a mere three points at the break, 35-32.

However, in the second half Manhattan missed all four chances on the perimeter and shot only 26.7 percent from the floor, allowing the Greyhounds to race to the 12-point home win.

Loyola, which posted a 49-37 advantage on the glass, made its way into the win column despite 35.4 percent shooting from the field overall.

As luck would have it, these same two teams will see each other on Friday when eighth-seeded Loyola battles ninth-seeded Manhattan in the first round of the MAAC Tournament at the Times Union Center.
