Stockton, CA (Sports Network) - Keion Bell poured in 25 points to lead the Pepperdine Waves to a 70-60 victory over the Pacific Tigers in a non- conference tussle.
Mychel Thompson had 12 points and nine rebounds for Pepperdine (3-5). The Waves also received 11 points from Taylor Darby and 10 points from Lorne Jackson.
Sam Willard tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds in the setback for Pacific (4-3). Allen Huddleston pitched in 14 points off the bench, and Demetrece Young contributed 10 points.
The Tigers owned a 27-16 advantage at intermission after limiting the Waves to 27.8 percent shooting from the field in the first half.
Pepperdine woke up in the second half, opening that final frame with a 20-5 run. The club shot 66.7 percent in that final stanza to claim the win.
A 33-27 rebounding advantage and strong defense were the two most obvious keys to victory for Pepperdine.
