Hot shooting Augustus, Lynx drop Silver Stars

San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Seimone Augustus made 12-of-15 from the floor en route to 30 points, and the Minnesota Lynx controlled the San Antonio Silver Stars in an 87-74 win at the AT&T Center.

Candice Wiggins added 24 points and made all 10 of her free throws for the Lynx, who entered having lost three of their last four. Vanessa Hayden tallied 10 points as the only other Minnesota player to reach double figures, and the Lynx held on thanks to a 23-of-27 performance at the charity stripe.

Becky Hammon netted 24 points to pace the Silver Stars, who lost for just the second time in their last 10 games. Ann Wauters had 18 points and six rebounds, while Sophia Young added 15 points and six boards.

Minnesota controlled the first half, opening up an 11-point cushion at the break, and prevented a rally by holding San Antonio to 26-of-65 shooting for the game.
