Mercury crush Comets

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Diana Taurasi poured in 33 points and dished out five helpers to lead the Phoenix Mercury past the Houston Comets, 99-74.

Cappie Pondexter and Kelly Miller both netted 11 points for the Mercury, who have won three in a row. Le'coe Willingham added 16 points in victory, which helped Phoenix avoid elimination from the playoffs.

Mistie Williams scored 17 points off the bench for the Comets, who have dropped five straight. Michelle Snow and Shannon Johnson had 14 points apiece and Tina Thompson gave 13 points in defeat.
