Vitali Klitschko stops Albert Sosnowski in 10th

Gelsenkirchen, Germany (Sports Network) - Vitali Klitschko maintained his WBC heavyweight title by knocking out Albert Sosnowski in the 10th round Saturday at Veltins-Arena.

Klitschko (40-2), fighting for the first time since December, controlled most of the fight and sent Sosnowski (45-3-1) to the canvas with a hard right hand in the 10th before referee Jay Nady stopped the bout at the 2:20 mark.

The 38-year-old Klitschko hasn't lost since a TKO against Lennox Lewis in June, 2003. It was the 38th knockout of his career.

Sosnowski captured the European title last December 18 in a unanimous decision against Italy's Paolo Vidoz.
