Lazarte keeps IBF junior flyweight belt

Mar del Plata, Argentina (Sports Network) - Luis Alberto Lazarte kept his IBF junior flyweight championship with a 12-round unanimous decision over Nerys Espinoza Saturday night.

Making his first title defense, Lazarte (48-9-1) won by scores of 116-111 from all three judges, and he finished the fight strong. He took the belt with a 12-round split decision over Carlos Tamara in May of this year.

Espinoza (29-6-1), who has never won in three title bouts, was coming off an eight-round victory over Julio Buitrago in June.
