Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - Henry Burris threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns on 19-of-36 passing, as the Calgary Stampeders went on to a 38-33 win over the Edmonton Eskimos.
Jeremaine Copeland and Ryan Thelwell each caught four passes, including a score, for Calgary (6-4), which lost to Edmonton on Monday. Ken-Yon Rambo had two receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown, while Joffrey Reynolds had 12 rushes for only 27 yards -- but was still the Stampeders' leading scorer.
Calgary has won three of four overall.
Ricky Ray was 29-for-42 passing for 357 yards, but didn't have a touchdown and threw one interception. Ray did rush for a score, however. A.J. Harris had 11 catches for 147 yards, and Kamau Peterson had 93 receiving yards on eight catches for the Eskimos (6-4), who had won two in a row.
The Eskimos had an early lead after Shannon Garrett recovered a Burris fumble for a touchdown in the first minute. But Burris bounced back to lead Calgary on a seven-play, 81-yard scoring drive that was capped with a three-yard toss to Thelwell.
Sandro DeAngelis added a 49-yard filed goal in the final minute of the first to give the Stampeders a 10-7 lead.
The teams entered halftime tied after Edmonton added two Noel Prefontaine field goals and a single, while DeAngelis added another field goal and a single.
Shannon James intercepted a Ray pass for a 27-yard touchdown to open the third-quarter scoring. But Prefontaine countered with two field goals -- from 42 and 27 yards out -- to keep the game close, as Calgary held just a 21-20 lead heading into the final stanza.
The Stampeders expanded their lead when Burris tossed an eight-yard touchdown to Copeland with a little less than 10 minutes remaining. But Edmonton countered with a 78-yard drive that Ray finished with a nine-yard dash. The conversion, though, was no good, leaving the Eskimos trailing by two at 28-26.
That set up a hectic final three minutes. DeAngelis added a 29-yard field goal with 2:38 left, and after the Stampeders got the ball back, Burris completed a 27-yard touchdown throw to Rambo.
The scores boosted Calgary to a 38-26 lead, and the club was able to hold on after Mathieu Bertrand ran for a two-yard score in the final minute for Edmonton.
