Richardson, Calvillo help Alouettes dominate Tiger-Cats

Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - Jamel Richardson had three touchdown receptions to lift the Montreal Alouettes to a convincing 42-11 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on the Canadian Thanksgiving.

Quarterback Anthony Calvillo was 33-for-41 for 371 yards, three touchdowns and one interception for Montreal (10-5). Ben Cahoon caught 13 balls for 164 yards and Richardson ended with 12 catches for 125 yards.

Quinton Porter finished 17-of-25 for 167 yards and two interceptions for Hamilton (3-12). The Tiger-Cats had four turnovers in the contest, which led to 17 Montreal points.

Montreal and Hamilton exchanged touchdowns in the opening quarter. Calvillo hit Richardson with a 10-yard pass for a score, while Porter scampered seven yards into the end zone for Hamilton's only touchdown of the game.

The second quarter was a different story, as Montreal outscored the Tiger-Cats 18-3 to take a 25-10 lead into halftime. After a 55-yard single by Damon Duval, Calvillo and Richardson connected for another touchdown, a 25-yard completion to make it 15-7.

Nick Setta banged in an eight-yard field goal for Hamilton's only points in the second stanza, cutting the deficit to 15-10. However, Montreal came right back with a 23-yard field goal from Duval and a one-yard touchdown pass from Adrian McPherson to Richardson.

The Alouettes continued their domination in the third quarter, outscoring Hamilton 17-1 to take a commanding 42-11 advantage into the final stanza. Setta opened the second half with a 61-yard single for Hamilton.

Duval's 27-yard field goal was sandwiched between a three-yard touchdown run by Calvillo and a three-yard scoring pass over the middle to Cahoon to close out the scoring in the one-sided contest.

Game Notes

The Alouettes visit Toronto on Saturday...Calvillo has a personal-best 38 touchdown passes this season and has passed for over 5,000 yards for the fifth time in his career...Richardson has 13 touchdown receptions this season...Montreal is 7-1 at home....Hamilton is 1-6 on the road this season...The Tiger-Cats will be at Saskatchewan on Sunday.
