Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - The Calgary Stampeders have signed receiver Ken-Yon Rambo to a contract extension, the team announced Friday. Terms of the agreement were not released.
Rambo played in just three games last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury, recording 17 catches for 179 yards.
"We were all disappointed for Ken-Yon when he suffered his knee injury early in 2009, but he has worked very hard to get back in shape," said Calgary head coach and general manager John Hufnagel. "He has been a highly productive receiver and he's determined to be back on top in 2010."
Rambo led the CFL in receiving yards in 2008, with 1,473, and his 100 receptions that season were the most for a Stampeders receiver since 1995.
"I can't wait for the 2010 season to get started," Rambo said. "It's like a renewal for me and I will be back with a vengeance."
Rambo, 31, signed with Calgary as a free agent in 2005, having previously spent time in the NFL with Dallas and the New York Jets. He has 283 catches for 4,128 yards and 26 touchdowns over his CFL career.
