Quinn named head coach at Buffalo

Sun 20th, December 2009

Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Jeff Quinn, the offensive coordinator at Cincinnati, has been hired as the head football coach at the University at Buffalo.

Quinn replaces Danny Barrett, who was named interim head coach after Turner Gill left Buffalo to take the job at Kansas.

Quinn will serve as interim head coach for the 12-0 Bearcats during their Sugar Bowl appearance against Florida on New Year's Day. He has 27 years of college coaching experience and has helped guide Cincinnati to consecutive Big East titles. He was the offensive coordinator at Central Michigan during that school's run to the 2006 MAC championship.

Buffalo will officially introduce Quinn at a Tuesday afternoon news conference.
