GAME NOTES: The Knights of UCF make the trek from Orlando to Miami to play the FIU Golden Panthers in the first-ever meeting between the two Sunshine State schools. Both teams are flaunting perfect 2-0 records to this point in the young season.

UCF dominated ACC opponent Boston College last week 30-3, a game in which the Knights held the Eagles to 141 total yards. Last week, was the Knights' first home victory ever against a BCS conference school. FIU is coming off a surprising road victory against Louisville. Receiver T.Y. Hilton was named the Walter Camp Offensive player of the week due to a record-breaking 201-yard performance for the Panthers.

Coming into Saturday's contest, UCF leads the nation with 11 rushing touchdowns. This is in large part due to an eight-touchdown outburst in the opener against Charleston Southern. After that bout, the Knights continued to impress as they scored 21 fourth-quarter points on their way to a surprisingly easy victory over Boston College. Sophomore quarterback Jeff Godfrey set a new career high with 20 completions as he threw for over 100 yards for the 12th straight time. He connected with nine different receivers on his way to 187 yards. Godfrey also leads Conference USA in rushing touchdowns with five. Expect the Knights to use multiple backs as they have been giving Latavius Murray, Brynn Harvey and Ronnie Weaver equal workloads thus far. The Knights spread the ball out to different receivers as well. Seven players have two or more receptions. Quincy McDuffie leads the team with seven receptions. The UCF offensive line has been performed exceptionally well, only allowing one sack in the first two games.

UCF has not allowed a touchdown in 12 quarters, a school record. The Knights have only allowed 16 points in their last four contests overall. The club leads the nation in scoring defense only allowing 1.5 ppg and is second in total defense. Cornerback Josh Robinson will have the responsibility of covering FIU's standout receiver T.Y. Hilton. Both players were on the preseason watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, which is awarded to the nation's most versatile player at the season's end. The Knights' rushing defense has been stifling so far this season. The team is only allowing opponents 1.9 yards per carry. Third down has been kind to the UCF defense as it has allowed opposing offenses to convert just 18.5 percent of 26 attempts.

FIU has been rolling offensively as Hilton has dazzled thus far. Considered by some to be an early dark horse for the Heisman Trophy, Hilton has racked up 502 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in the first two games. Wes Carroll has done an efficient job as the field general for the Panthers, completing 70 percent of his passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns. Darriet Perry and Kedrick Rhodes have split the carries out of the backfield for FIU. Perry leads the team with 112 rushing yards and Rhodes is close behind with 93.

The FIU defense has been led this season by junior linebacker Winston Fraser. Fraser recorded eight tackles and gave the Panthers an early boost as he returned an interception 71 yards for the first score of the game last week versus Louisville. The defense recorded six sacks and held Louisville to just 83 rushing yards. FIU held the North Texas offense scoreless in the season opener, and was able to limit Mean Green running back Lance Dunbar to a mere 43 yards.

It is going to be interesting to see if UCF's top-ranked defense can quiet Hilton in this in-state battle, and if FIU's defense can continue its dominance against this red-hot Knights' offense. Godfrey is going to be pressured continuously by the aggressive Golden Panther pass rush throughout the game, and how he handles that pressure could decide the outcome.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: FIU 24, UCF 23
