GAME NOTES: Troy hopes to get back on track this week as the Trojans host the ULM Warhawks in a Sun Belt Conference battle at Veteran's Memorial Stadium. Both teams are coming off of losses to the two remaining undefeated teams in the conference.

ULM has struggled so far this season with its lone win coming against FCS opponent Grambling State. The Warhawks opened up conference play last week but lost 24-19 to Arkansas State at home after blowing a halftime lead.

Troy is hoping to bounce back from a 30-17 loss to Louisiana and remain in contention for the conference championship. The Trojans had won their previous two games before suffering last week's defeat.

This will be the 14th time these programs square off. ULM holds the lead in the all-time series 8-4-1. In 2010, Troy lost to ULM in Monroe 28-14.

Brent Leonard almost led the Warhawks to victory against Arkansas State with his stellar performance, as the junior receiver caught 10 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns. Kolton Browning has started every game at quarterback for ULM, but backup Cody Wells has seen action in every contest so far.

Centarius Donald could have an impact for the Warhawks as he has shown big play ability. Edwards is averaging an impressive 6.4 yards a carry so far.

ULM's defense shut down Arkansas State's rushing attack in its conference opener by holding the Red Wolves to just 84 yards rushing. The defense also gave Ryan Aplin trouble as they picked off the Arkansas State quarterback on three separate occasions. Jason Edwards is coming off a great performance as the senior linebacker recorded 11 tackles against the Red Wolves to bring his season total to 39.

Troy's offense revolves around sophomore gunslinger Corey Robinson. The sophomore quarterback has already thrown for 1,650 yards and the Trojan pass offense ranks 10th in the nation. Eric Thomas has been Robinson's favorite target, as the receiver has 28 catches for 405 yards and five touchdowns. The pass heavy offense turns to running back Shawn Southward to change the pace, but the rushing game tends to disappear at times.

Troy's defense gave up 382 yards to Louisiana in their tussle last week. The defense has allowed over 150 yards rushing in every game this year besides last week's loss. The defense is averaging 465 yards allowed per game. Big plays have been a problem for the Trojans. Troy has allowed a 49-plus yard play in each game this year. ULM's Leonard could have another big day against Troy as Javone Lawson of Louisiana did last week with eight catches for 131 yards. The Trojans are led on the defensive side by DB Brynden Trawick, who has recorded 46 tackles and a sack on the season.

Troy should be able to return to their winning ways in this one as long as Robinson can put some points on the board and the defense can prevent Donald from breaking off too many big plays.
