GAME NOTES: The Missouri Tigers will tear into Waco this weekend for an important Big 12 clash with the Baylor Bears, who were whipped 59-24 by Oklahoma State last weekend.

Missouri picked up an emotional overtime win over Texas A&M last weekend, winning 38-31 in College Station. The Tigers need two wins in the last four games to qualify for the postseason, which will be no easy task, considering Baylor, Texas and Texas Tech are all on the remaining slate.

Baylor still has work to do as well in order to earn bowl berth, and the last three game stretch is challenging, with home games against Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Texas to close out the season. The Bears have dropped their last two games by a combined score of 104-52. Baylor still has one of the most explosive offenses in college football, but there are serious concerns about the defensive production, a sentiment that has been exposed the last two weeks in losses to Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.

Missouri leads the all-time series with Baylor, 11-2.

At the center of Missouri's overtime win against the Aggies was a standout rushing performance by Henry Josey, who ran for 162 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries. Sprinkle in a stellar showing by multi-dimensional quarterback James Franklin, and the Tigers locked up the biggest win of the season.

Franklin passed for 198 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for another 97 yards and two touchdowns as Missouri rallied from a 28-17 fourth quarter deficit against Texas A&M. Franklin has been a consistent playmaker under center all year long, where he has thrown for over 1,800 yards, with 13 touchdowns against seven interceptions. He has been very explosive as a runner, gaining 542 yards and 10 touchdowns. Josey is fourth in the country in rushing with 127.2 yards per game and has seven touchdowns on the year. Josey has rushed for 129 yards or more in each of his last three games. Missouri leads the Big 12 in rushing (243.8), and is 11th in the country in total yards (490.2). The team's top receiver is T.J. Moe, who had four catches for 38 yards last weekend. Moe averages 5.1 catches for 64.5 yards per game.

Missouri's defense gave up 500 yards of total offense to Texas A&M last weekend, but the Tigers came up clutch in overtime, shutting down the Aggies on the final possession of the game after Missouri had scored the go-ahead touchdown. The unit registered three takeaways in the game, which brought the team's total to 14 through eight games. Missouri is fourth in the Big 12 in total defense (382.5), fourth in scoring defense (24.7) and fourth in sacks per game (two). Brad Madison and Jacquies Smith both have 3.5 sacks this season, and Madison is ninth in the Big 12 in tackles for loss with 7.5. Andrew Wilson ranks third in the league with 68 tackles.

Turnovers haunted Baylor against Oklahoma State, as the Bears gave up three fumbles and two interceptions in the loss. Robert Griffin III completed 33- of-50 passes for 425 yards and one touchdown with the two picks, and also ran for 27 yards and another score. The Bears other two stars, Terrance Ganaway and Kendall Wright also had productive afternoons on the stat page. Ganaway rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown, while Wright caught 11 passes for 117 yards.

But the turnovers hurt, and the Bears couldn't keep pace for the second straight week. Griffin still has mammoth numbers to his credit. He ranks third in the country in both passing efficiency (190.6) and total offense (385.2), and still leads an offense that is third in the country in total yards (560.0) and ninth in scoring (41.4). Baylor also leads the country in overall passing efficiency (192.3). Wright is fourth in the land in both catches (9.4) and receiving yards (124.8) per game, while Ganaway is averaging 94 yards per game and has scored eight touchdowns on the ground.

Baylor's defense has been less and less productive since the beginning of the season, and over the past two games have given up 55 and 59 points respectively. While the turnovers certainly didn't help the Bears against Oklahoma State, the Cowboys still posted over 600 yards of total offense on the Bears. Brandon Weeden threw for 274 yards and three scores, while Oklahoma State's rushing attack garnered 327 yards on the ground. Baylor is 108th in the country in total defense (450.2), giving up 205.7 rushing years and 244.5 passing yards per game, and also rank 115th in scoring defense (36.4).

Missouri has two exceptional athletes in its backfield in Franklin and Josey, and they will more than likely feast on a Baylor defense that is flat-out struggling at the moment. Missouri must rise to the occasion against Griffin and a dynamic offense. If the unit does, Missouri will escape Waco with a close win.
