GAME NOTES: The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns head to Tucson to take on the Wildcats of Arizona in non-conference action at Arizona Stadium.

Head coach Mark Hudspeth has taken a Louisiana squad that finished 3-9 in 2010 and turned it into a winner as the Ragin' Cajuns are 8-3 heading into their regular season finale with the Wildcats. Louisiana had a chance at the Sun Belt Conference Championship but lost to the league's top-dog Arkansas State last week to end the run. Louisiana saw a six-game win streak after losing its opener to Oklahoma State.

The short era of interim head coach Tim Kish will be over after the matchup with Louisiana. Arizona announced the hiring of former Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez on Tuesday which the Arizona faithful are hoping will be a step in the right direction. The Wildcats struggled this year as they are 3-8 heading into the finale. Despite the down year, Arizona did enjoy the satisfaction of overcoming a 10-point deficit to defeat its in-state rival Arizona State 31-27 its last time out.

This is the first meeting between Louisiana and Arizona. This is a rare occasion for the Wildcats as they normally end the year with the Sun Devils.

Louisiana's offense was rolling before its encounter with Arkansas State. The Ragin' Cajuns averaged 468 yards of total offense in their two games before the match up in Jonesboro. Louisiana's offense was finally slowed down by the Red Wolves who held them to just 314 yards of total offense and 21 points, the lowest totals this season since entering conference play.

Blaine Gautier has played exceptionally well in his first full year as a starter. The junior has thrown for 2173 yards and 19 touchdowns with just five interceptions while running for another 443 yards on the ground. Gautier struggled against Arkansas State as he threw three of his five interceptions in the loss.Gautier had four different targets with over 400 yards receiving. Javone Lawson leads the team with 762 yards and also has six touchdowns. Harry Peoples is tied with Lawson for a team-best 49 receptions and has 598 yards. Darryl Surgent is a big-play machine as he has 421 yards and six touchdowns on just 24 catches. Gautier's favorite red zone target is his big tight end Ladarius Green. The Mackey Award Candidate has a team-best seven touchdown grabs.

Alonzo Harris is the lead back for the Ragin' Cajuns. Harris had his breakout performance against Middle Tennessee as he ran for 189 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries. The freshman running back has only had six carries in each of Louisiana's games since the Blue Raider game.

Louisiana has a middle of the road defense as it is ranked 60th nationally in total defense with 384 yards of total offense allowed per game and 76th in the nation in scoring defense with 28.4 points allowed per game.

Arizona has one of the best aerial attacks in the nation as it ranks fourth in the nation with 370.55 yards through the air per game. The running game is not a big factor in the Wildcats' game plan as it is among the worst in the country. Arizona had 494 yards of total offense in the 31-27 win over Arizona State.

Nick Foles is approaching 4000 passing yards for the season as he has thrown for 300 plus in each of his last four games. Foles has thrown at least one touchdown pass in each game this season to give him a total of 25. Juron Criner has been the main option in the passing game for the Wildcats. The senior receiver was a huge part of the win over the Sun Devils as he caught nine passes for 134 yards and a touchdown. It was the fourth time he eclipsed the 100-yard mark this season. Gino Crump had six catches for 69 yards and a touchdown in the win.

All three of the vital elements of the Arizona passing attack will be celebrating their senior day Saturday.

The Wildcats' defense is gave up 548 yards of total offense last week, but came up clutch with stops when it matters. The 487 passing yards by Arizona State's Brock Osweiler was only accompanied by one touchdown pass. Arizona's secondary picked off Osweiler twice in the winning effort.

This passing attack of Arizona is going to be tested by Louisiana. The only team that was able to torture the Ragin' Cajuns with the passing game was Oklahoma State. The Wildcats are going to be playing with a lot of emotion, how the Ragin' Cajuns, who have not faired well on the road, handle the pressure will determine the outcome of this one.
