Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Tim Hiller threw for 345 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Western Michigan Broncos to a thrilling 34-28 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bulls in a Mid-American Conference clash at UB Stadium.

Hiller completed an astounding 42-of-63 pass attempts in the Western Michigan (6-1, 4-0 MAC) victory, while Schneider Julien hauled in 12 passes for 111 yards and a score. Jamarko Simmons caught 10 balls for 103 yards and a touchdown as well for the Broncos.

James Starks ran for 125 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Buffalo (2-4, 1-2) in the losing effort, but signal-caller Drew Willy completed just 17-of-34 pass attempts for 157 yards and no touchdowns for the Bulls.

The Bulls struck first in this one, taking a 7-0 lead late in the first quarter following a six-yard run by Starks.

The Broncos got on the board late in the second period with a John Potter 20- yard field goal.

Buffalo responded just minutes later, as Starks broke free for a 66-yard run that gave the Bulls a 14-3 lead going into the break.

Starks scored yet again late in the third quarter following a two-yard plunge to increase the Buffalo advantage to 21-3.

The Broncos managed a 20-yard field goal from Potter with under two minutes remaining in the frame.

Western Michigan pulled to within a touchdown early in the final frame following a six-yard toss from Hiller to Juan Nunez. The Broncos also converted a two-point conversion.

Buffalo responded midway through the period, as Brandon Thermilus plunged into the end zone from one yard out to give the Bulls a 28-14 lead.

Hiller struck again less than a minute later on a 13-yard hookup with Julien, cutting the Broncos deficit to 28-21.

With five seconds remaining in regulation, Hiller hit Simmons with a nine-yard toss to tie the contest, sending the game into overtime.

A two-yard strike from Hiller to Branden Ledbetter in the extra period gave the Broncos a 34-28 victory.
