NCAA Game Summary - Central Michigan at Kentucky

Final Score: Central Mich 13 - Kentucky 27

Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Josh Clemons ran for 126 yards and a touchdown, as the Kentucky Wildcats rallied for a 27-13 win over the Central Michigan Chippewas in a non-conference tilt at Commonwealth Stadium.

La'Rod King hauled in five passes for 100 yards and a TD to help Kentucky (2-0) improve to 6-0 in the all-time series with Central Michigan.

Ryan Radcliff threw for 295 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions for CMU (1-1). Jerry Harris caught six passes for 91 yards and a score in a losing effort.

The Chippewas opened the game with an 81-yard drive that lasted nearly seven minutes, but they had to settle for three points on a 19-yard field goal by David Harman.

The Wildcats answered with a field goal drive of their own, as Craig McIntosh evened the score at three apiece on a 41-yard field goal with 5:11 to play in the first quarter.

CMU responded with another 80-yard drive, this time finding the end zone on a 24-yard pass from Radcliff to Harris.

The Chippewas extended their lead to 13-3 at the 10:20 mark of the second quarter, when Harman split the uprights from 30 yards.

McIntosh tacked on a 45-yarder to make it a 13-6 game midway through the second quarter, and the score would remain the same entering halftime.

However, the second half belonged to the Wildcats. King evened the score at 13-13 on a 34-yard touchdown grab from Morgan Newton at the 4:07 mark of the third quarter.

Clemons gave the Wildcats the lead on an 87-yard touchdown run in the final minute of the third quarter.

Newton added an insurance touchdown on a one-yard run with 5:35 to play in the fourth quarter, and the Kentucky defense managed to keep the Chippewas off the scoreboard in the second half.

The Chippewas enjoyed a slight edge in total offense for the game, but they had no answer for a Wildcats ground attack that churned out 230 yards and averaged 6.2 yards per carry.
